New in October 2007 is a hexagon-shaped box which holds a small round pinkeep to store your pins. Included with the Quaker Pynkeepe Box, which is painted by Liberty Hill, is a chart with finishing instructions to create a round pinkeep which fits inside the hexagon box. The motif for the front of the pinkeep and the crown on the pinkeep back are taken from an antique sampler in the Historic Stitches collection. The Quaker Pynkeepe Box measures approximately 3.75 inches across at the widest point and is approximately 2 inches tall. The pinkeep measures appoximately 3 inches in diameter and is stitched on 40 count Iced Cappucino linen from R&R Reproductions using Crescent Colours hand-dyed cotton floss. Stitch Finders are wooden squares which come in three sizes (2 inches, 2.5 inches and 3 inches) and are used to help stitchers determine where to begin stitching their designs on the fabric, depending on the size of fabric margin desired. Kit includes charts and finishing instructions for the tri-fold case to hold the set of three stitch finders; set of three hand-made, hand-painted wooden stitch finders from Liberty Hill with instructions for use; cotton lining fabric for the stitch finder case; acorn button for the case closure. Linen used for the model is 32 count Vintage Meadow Rue hand-dyed linen from Lakeside Linens. Gloriana hand-dyed silk and ribbon are used to stitch and finish the case. A design collaboration from Historic Stitches, Liberty Hill and Sew & Sew Finishing. A round box from Liberty Hill, hand-painted in a PA folk art style, holds a wool pincushion designed by Sew & Sew Finishing. A cross stitched potted strawberry motif taken from an antique sampler in the collection of Historic Stitches resides underneath the box lid. The pincushion, which is ornamented with a By Jupiter strawberry charm, is removable and can be taken out of the box while in use, then replaced when finished, and the lid put on for safekeeping of your needles and pins. Size of the box is approximately 4 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. Materials used are 28 count La-D-Da Brown hand-dyed linen from R&R Reproductions; DMC and Gentle Art Sampler Threads cotton floss; Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed wool, color Kohl, and WDW hand-dyed perle cotton number 5, color Raspberry. The Berrie Pynboxe set includes the hand-painted box, strawberry charm, chart and stitching instructions for the strawberry motif, and complete finishing instructions for the pincushion. Linen, wool, and floss are not included.
Original band sampler
design featuring many different acorn band patterns that were
inspired by antique sampler motifs. The chart pack includes charts
for the band sampler, scissors fob, round pinkeep and a basket
band. Finishing instructions for the accessories are included
with color close-up photos. The sterling silver acorn charm on
the pinkeep is also included in the chart pack. Sampler and accessories
are stitched on 28 count Latte Country French linen from Wichelt
Imports using DMC cotton floss. Stitches used are cross stitch
over two threads, Smyrna cross, rice stitch, Algerian Eye stitch,
long-armed cross stitch and back stitch; stitch diagrams are
provided. Approximate finished size of the band sampler is 10.5
inches wide by 18.5 inches tall.

by the angular-shaped hearts found on German and Dutch samplers.
This needlebook is stitched on 32 count natural Glenshee linen
from The Heart's Content using primarily Weeks Dye Works over-dyed
thread with accents stitched in DMC cotton floss. Complete finishing
instructions and templates are included in the chart pack along
with design charts for the needlecase front and back. Stitched
entirely in cross stitch over two threads.
Original design that
is inspired by two other styles of hearts found on German and
Dutch samplers. The scissors case and pinkeep are companion pieces
to the Remembrance Needlebook and are also stitched on 32 count
natural Glenshee from The Heart's Content using Weeks Dye Works
over-dyed thread and DMC cotton floss. Design charts, complete
finishing instructions and templates are included in the chart
pack. Stitched entirely in cross stitch over two threads. Original design stitched
on 32 count navy linen with Thread Gatherer's Silk 'n Colors
silk threads. Stitches used include cross stitch over two threads
and cross stitch over one thread. Complete finishing instructions
are included with the chart pack. Finished size of the pincushion
is approximately 3 inches square. This trio of accessories was inspired by motifs on the AY 1801 antique sampler, which was reproduced by Historic Stitches in 2001. Included are a pinball, a scissors fob and a sewing case with flannel for needles and a pocket for scissors. All three pieces are stitched on 40 count natural linen using Needlepoint, Inc. silk in colors 644, 763 and 206, the same colors which were used to reproduce the AY 1801 sampler.
