of an American Quaker sampler in the Historic Stitches collection.
The reproduction of the MA Brown 1826 sampler is stitched on
28 count Vintage Examplar linen from Lakeside Linens. Thread
alternatives are given for DMC cotton floss; Needlepoint, Inc.
silk; and soie d'alger silk from Access Commodities. The sampler
is stitched primarily in cross stitch over two threads with a
small amount of cross stitch over one thread, and measures approximately
10.25 inches wide by 8.25 inches high. Chart pack includes an
analysis of the MA Brown antique sampler by noted Quaker sampler
scholar Lynn Tinley. ![]() Quaker Pynkeepe Box New for 2007 is a hexagon-shaped box which holds a small round pinkeep to store your pins. Included with the Quaker Pynkeepe Box, which is painted by Liberty Hill, is a chart with finishing instructions to create a round pinkeep which fits inside the hexagon box. The motif for the front of the pinkeep and the crown on the pinkeep back are taken from an antique sampler in the Historic Stitches collection. The Quaker Pynkeepe Box measures approximately 3.75 inches across at the widest point and is approximately 2 inches tall. The pinkeep measures appoximately 3 inches in diameter and is stitched on 40 count Iced Cappucino linen from R&R Reproductions using Crescent Colours hand-dyed cotton floss. the tenth design in an annual series of Christmas ornaments from
Historic Stitches. Christmas Quaker was inspired by the fascinating
variations of Quaker motifs, and includes motifs taken from antique
Quaker samplers in the Historic Stitches collection. Chart pack
includes charts for the ornament front and back designs (click
here to see photo of the design for
the ornament back) plus finishing instructions. The model was
stitched on 32 count lambswool linen from Wichelt Imports using
Crescent Colours Hand-dyed Threads. Approximate finished size
is 4.25 inches wide by 7 inches tall, including tassel. ![]()
